Chalice Lighting  -  Jean Ott

We light this chalice in honor of our living tradition.
To honor our roots in heretical and liberal Christianity;
To honor the wisdom we draw from Judaism and other world religions, humanism, and earth-centered spirituality;
To honor our own personal experience of the unknown;
To honor the words and deeds of countless people,
who inspire and empower us, to speak truth to power, and love to evil;
To honor our place in the interdependent web of creation.
May this light shine on in our living of Unitarian Universalism!
