Amid all the noise in our lives, we take this moment
As we gather together this morning, may we learn
The Bridging Ceremony celebrates the transition of our youth
Jeff LiebmannCome into this circle of community
Everything begins on the verge of awareness
Fill your heart like a vessel with the Christmas spirit
For our community gathered here, for the spirit
In this quiet hour may our spirits be renewed
Leave aside the little thoughts
Let there be joy in our coming together this morning
Like Janus we gather with part of us looking backward
May we come into this building hallowed by generations
One of the old ones stood up into the morning light
Our prophets died for the freedom of faith
Reflection on the UUA Purpose and Principles
Michael E. SallwasserTake from life its coals, not its ashes
There are some heights to which we have not risen
To this house we come bringing our boldest dreams
We are called to gather as a beloved community
We are here that we might have life
We are people of all ages who enter this space
We come to this hour knowing that it is but an hour
We come together today in praise and thanksgiving
We gather here to worship: To seek the truth, to grow
We gather in community to rest from our labors
We gather on this Sabbath morn to worship
We gather to seek in the midst of our fragmented selves
We gather together to affirm our liberal religious values
"We gather together": familiar words to many of us
We gather together in this space to honor
We gather together to face ourselves honestly
We have come into this room of hope
We summon ourselves from the demands and delights
Welcome to this common, sacred space
Welcome to this place of possibility! This is love's hearth
What life have we, if we have not life together
Whatever the need that brings you to this special place
When winter's darkness spreads across the land
Whether you have come here with heart full or heart empty
Whoever you are, whatever you bring
