Amid all the noise in our lives, we take this moment

As we gather together this morning, may we learn

For our community gathered here, for the spirit

In this quiet hour may our spirits be renewed

Like Janus we gather with part of us looking backward

May we come into this building hallowed by generations

We are called to gather as a beloved community

We are here that we might have life

We are people of all ages who enter this space

We come to love a church

We come to this hour knowing that it is but an hour

We come together today in praise and thanksgiving

We gather here this weekend

We gather here to worship: To seek the truth, to grow

We gather in community to rest from our labors

We gather on this Sabbath morn to worship

We gather to seek in the midst of our fragmented selves

We gather together to affirm our liberal religious values

"We gather together": familiar words to many of us

We gather together in this space to honor

We gather together to face ourselves honestly

We have come into this room of hope

We summon ourselves from the demands and delights

Welcome to this common, sacred space

Welcome to this place of possibility! This is love's hearth

What life have we, if we have not life together

Whatever the need that brings you to this special place

When winter's darkness spreads across the land

Whether you have come here with heart full or heart empty

Whoever you are, whatever you bring
