There is rarely enough silence in our services
Thou art the sun of my heart in the morning
Thou who art the soul and heart of life, save us from fear
Thou who art the vital center of our lives
Thou who knows the secrets hidden within all hearts
Thou, whose kingdom is within, may all thy names
Thou whose power we see in the stars
Thou whose voice speaks from within the heart
To escape the trap of public acclaim
To the God above God we turn our thoughts
Too often, God, we have ignored you
Universal Spirit of love, O God within each one of us
We are confronted with all that we do not know
We are each different. Some of us are bigger
We are in the midst of the season of celebration
We give thanks for the earth and its creatures
We gather this morning in celebration and appreciation
We give thanks for the earth and its creatures
We give thanks for this day and for these people
We have reason to celebrate, to be grateful, to be proud
We have returned again to the time of Atonement
We invoke thy gentlest blessings, God, on all true lovers
We pause in the stillness to rest for a moment
We pray today to be renewed in the love that never faileth
We praise the faithfulness of those who went before
We reflect in thanksgiving this day for all those whose lives have nurtured ours.
We remember the many connections that sustain
When I was a child, the day after Thanksgiving
When my mind is still and alone
Who can be certain where the self stops?
Wouldn't it be great if you could take a picture of your soul?
You are the eternal, the timeless
You send us into the world, O God, with freedom
