Instructions for Viewing
RealVideo®
In order to view and listen to the RealVideo® recordings
on this site, you need to have a computer with a sound board and either speakers
or headphones. You also need the RealPlayer G2™ program installed
on your computer so that your browser may use it to decode and play the video
files. You may get this player (it's free) by visiting the the RealNetworks
website and choosing the correct type of player for your system. NOTE: This
is the same player that plays RealAudio files. If you have that
player installed, you have everything you need.
The RealVideo format combines video and sound and the resulting files are highly
compressed in order to be modem-friendly, so the picture is small and the quality
is not as good as we would like. As the Internet bandwidth available to most
users continues to increase in the coming months and years, the quality of future
confererence video files will also improve (and perhaps even be available live!).
If you have trouble viewing our video files and you can view other RealVideo
files (try NPR), write to Donald Griggs at
dgriggs@who.net.
