UUA Continental Conference on Urban Ministries
Building Our Faith; Building Our Cities

Beating the Parish Bounds: A Path to the Streets

Workshop leaders:
Rev. Kay Jorgensen and Sr. Carmen Barsody
Faithful Fools Street Ministry 234 Hyde Street San Francisco, CA 94102 415-474-0508

About the Workshop:
Parish is a community and community is a parish. Lines drawn to separate us are imaginary. "Justice Associates" and "Street Retreats" are models of reflection for this relationship. An urban theology evolves out of the lived experience of city life. We invite people to dialogue on how it is effecting our theological conversation and our sociological place in the community.

Workshop leader biographies:
Rev. Kay Jorgensen is Community Minister of Social Justice at the First UU Church in San Francisco. Together with Sr. Carmen Barsody they have a street ministry in San Francisco called the Faithful Fools.
