"Priorities"

Urban Ministry and the UUA:
Baltimore Urban Ministry Conference (February 1998)

Conferees attending the 1998 Urban Ministry Conference in Baltimore were asked to think about and contribute their suggestions to the question of "urban ministry and the UUA." Conferees were asked to suggest priorities which they felt the UUA was in the best position to address. Later, they were then asked to prioritize issues/urban ministry needs which the UUA was in the best position to address. "Urban ministry" was divided into four categories: 1) suburban congregations effected by urban issues; 2) urban congregations, substantial and thriving; 3) urban congregations, renewing and/or struggling; and 4) new ministries.

Following are both the full list of suggested priorities as well as the top three suggested UUA priorities for each category.  The top three are underlined.   Thanks to Judith Long for transcribing this report.
