Youth Ministry Survey
In January and February 2006 about 1,400 youth ages 12-20 completed the Youth Ministry Survey. The survey asked about their experience with youth ministry and the ways in which they have been involved in Unitarian Universalism. The survey sought to reach youth with diverse levels and types of involvement, including continental YRUU youth, district YRUU youth, youth involved in youth groups, youth involved in congregational life, and youth who have left congregations.
The survey is no longer being administered (the deadline was February 28, 2006), but you can view the survey here .
The information gathered from the survey serves as a foundation for the congregational, district and stakeholder conversations.

In order to analyze the data and look at specific groups of youth, Market Voice Consulting broke the data into "banners." Check out page 2 of each of the banners for a guide to understanding the banner. These guides explain how to find the information you want and provide examples from that specific banner.
- Banner #1
by Youth Involvement Locally, District Involvement, Continental Involvement, Length of Time as UU, Gender, and Age Groupings
- Banner #2
by District/Region
- Banner #3
by Adoption Status, Family Situation, Race/Ethnicity, Use of Youth Office Resources, and Other UU Affiliations
- Banner #4
by Youth Involvement with RE/Local Youth Group, and Sexual Orientation
We will post more analyses and reports about specific populations of youth as we dig deeper into the survey results.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Survey
Can I find out the results for my congregation?
Sorry, the survey data will not be broken down by congregation. The best way to learn from the youth in your congregation about what they want from your congregation's youth ministry is to invite them to actively participate in the congregational conversations in spring 2006.

Junior High Youth Programs Survey
Have you ever wondered what opportunities are available specifically for junior high youth? In 2006, UU Church of Indianapolis Youth Advisor and Chrysalis Trainer Tim Murphy conducted a survey about junior high youth programs. The survey asked district/regional youth and adult leadership about what programs they offer for junior high youth and whether junior high youth are represented in district/regional youth leadership structures. Every UUA district and three CUC regions participated. Read a summary of the survey results . Contact Tim Murphy (nightcoaster@yahoo.com ) with questions or feedback.
