Mind
the Gap: Youth and Young Adult Ministry Sunday We invite all congregations in the United States and Canada to hold a Mind the Gap: Youth and Young Adult Ministry fundraising service one Sunday this church calendar year (September 2002 - May 2003). This campaign is a continental-wide effort to raise 2 million dollars to generate grants, curriculum, trainings and other resources for youth, campus and young adult ministries in congregations, in districts and on the continental level. In order to reach our goal congregations are asking for an average donation of $50 per person. It is not too late to get involved! Please urge your congregational leadership to put this on your worship calendar. Here's how to get involved:
Where are the
youth and young adults? The good news is that this is starting to change. Congregations are expanding our programs for the 14-35 age group. The number of Unitarian Universalist youth, college students and young adults is growing. But we can't stop here. Many of our congregations are still missing the energy, creativity and leadership of young people. We have a responsibility to minister to people who would benefit from the support of a liberal religion in high school, on a campus, in a new job or with their families. You can help us fund programs that are making a difference. Please ask your congregation to hold a Mind the Gap: Youth and Young Adult Ministry Sunday and give generously.
Call us at 617 948-6105 or send us an email message! *Funds from
Youth and Young Adult Ministry Sunday will be added to the youth/young
adult component of the Campaign for Unitarian Universalism, our Association's
capital campaign. The combined goal of these two efforts is $4 million
in support of Youth,
Campus and Young Adult Ministry! |
