Religious educators learn in many ways, in many environments, and from many teachers. For those individuals participating in programs for on-going intellectual and professional growth, scholarships and grants are available! In 2000-2001, more than $10,000 was awarded to 28 religious educators for their participation in a variety of programs and learning experiences. Individual awards ranged from $88 to $500. Additionally, 10 grants of $100 are available for congregations in need of curriculum materials or program supplies.
To Apply:
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis through the year. Grant applications are considered until May 1 each year. Employment Opportunities for Lay Religious Professionals Directors of Religious Education and Life Span Learning, Youth Advisors, Religious Education Administrators, Religious Education Coordinators, Program Specialists, Adult Program Directors and Coordinators, full-time, part-time, interim, acting and so much more! While the UUA does not currently offer full search and settlement/placement services for Religious Education professionals, we are happy to share the following on-line resources for individuals seeking positions in congregations and for congregations seeking to fill employment vacancies.
