From "Parenting for Peace & Justice Network Newsletter" October 2000 Get enough stones (about 3 to 5 inches in diameter is best) for each person in the group to have one. As each person holds the stone, ask them to think of a grudge they are holding against someone. Each person then writes the grudge on the stone with a magic marker. After everyone has written their grudge, ask everyone to think about how they might let go of the grudge. Then go outside and have each person dig a small hole and bury the stone. When it is done, invite anyone to share how they are going to approach the person against whom they were holding the grudge, but make sure that no one feels forced to share. If it is impossible to go outside, you can get a box of dirt and have everyone bury his or her stone by sticking it in the dirt. |
