Leadership School for Religious Educators at the Mountain
July 8-14, 2001

Unitarian Universalist lay leaders have long used Leadership School as their primary training source, where they learn about their own preferences and temperaments, practice small groups process skills, and learn about UU heritage and values. Participants also plan and put together worship services, learn how congregations operate, and acquire "systems thinking," all in a context of UU principles and purposes.

Now religious educators have the opportunity to attend a Leadership School that takes their special needs into account. The Mountain, locates about 2 ½ hours north of Atlanta near highlands, NC will sponsor Leadership School for Religious Educators July 8-14, 2001.

Faculty will include:
  • the Rev. Cynthia Breen, head of the UUA's Department of Religious Education
  • Dr. Helen Bishop, Acting Director of the Mountain's Learning Center for Leadership
  • Laurel Amabile and the Rev. Susan Rak, program consultants who serve on the UUA field staff
  • and local directors and ministers of religious education
Religious Educators and chairs of RE Committees are especially encouraged to attend. The number of participants will be limited, so register early.

For more information, or to request registration materials, contact Susan Smith at The Mountain, 828-526-5838, or email Susan using mountain@dnet.net , putting "Attn: Susan Smith" in the subject.
