Kids and Cows Kids & Cows: North American Families reaching across the seas We are delighted to announce a Unitarian Universalist service project for the children, youth, and families in your congregation. It is an opportunity to invest in the future of families in Unitarian congregations in Transylvania, family-to-family. Your gifts will buy pregnant cows, feed, equipment, and veterinary care for the model dairy farm in Harghita County, Transylvania. When the calves born from these cows are two years old, they will be given to a family in another village. Families in this Unitarian heartland sell the extra milk from their cows, which helps them earn the money to send their children to school and provide a livelihood for the family. Kids & Cows is especially well timed now to support your church's
efforts to do alternative gift fairs or Christmas fundraisers, and of
course it can be used any time during the year. In addition, this service
project will give the young folks in your congregation an opportunity
to make a real difference to their contemporaries in rural Romania. And
YOU can provide an opportunity for the children, youth, and families in
your home congregation to engage in meaningful social justice work that
deepens their personal connection to our religious roots and to their
religious cousins. Visit our website at www.projectharvesthope.org
