Ministerial Fellowship Committee

The Ministerial Fellowship Committee of the UUA will meet September 28-October 1, 2006 at the Courtyard Marriott in Brookline MA, and on October 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m., the business meeting will be open to observers.  The agenda will consist of non-confidential items from the business agenda.

The Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC) has jurisdiction over all phases of ministerial credentialing. Candidates for ministerial fellowship are interviewed by the Committee before fellowship is granted. Additionally, the MFC has the authority to remove ministerial fellowship.

Preliminary Fellowship Renewal Materials: Information and Materials

Records of Ministerial Fellowship are maintained by Beth Miller, Executive Secretary of the MFC.

  • Aspiring to the UU Ministry: Regional MFC Sub-Committees on Candidacy (RSCC) work with persons aspiring to become Candidates for Ministerial Fellowship. A map of the Regions.  Persons aspiring to the Unitarian Universalist Ministry may obtain information about preparation and Ministerial Fellowship from Ministerial Credentialing.
  • Credentials for Professional Ministry: Ministerial Fellowship is granted by the Association to those who meet and maintain the high standards and requirements for Unitarian Universalist Ministry. The MFC, appointed by the Board of Trustees, grants fellowship and governs the rules and policies which apply.
  • Disciplinary Reviews: are handled by the MFC. Ethical or conduct complaints not resolved directly within the congregation or with the assistance of the District Executive may be addressed to the MFC. Tracey Robinson-Harris advises complainants of appropriate steps and resources. A brief summary of Complaint Procedures is available upon request.
  • Ministerial Misconduct: Field Staff and Districts provide the primary consultation and support for congregations and their leadership. Contact your district office. The MFC is charged with significant ethical or conduct concerns with could lead to disciplinary action. Concerns about misconduct may be addressed to Tracey Robinson-Harris, Director for Congregational Services, directly by a complainant, or may be referred by Field Staff. Field Staff / Districts have resources and information available, and also provide consultation. In many instances complaints can be resolved directly with a minister, within congregational structures, or with assistance from Field Staff.
