Regional Sub-Committees on Candidacy

One important function of the RSCC is to make early decisions regarding Candidacy Status. This function includes providing honest feedback to pre-candidates who are judged suitable for the ministry as well as to those who are not. A second function is to provide accurate information to potential candidates on the pre-candidating process, and offer opportunities for support, discernment and formation.

The Regional Sub-Committees on Candidacy are appointed by the UUA Committee on Committees. Each committee has on it four clergy members and three lay members serving twoyear terms, renewable to a total of eight years of service. The RSCC's are supported by designated paid staff within the regions.
