    Year 1 - Study/Action Issues for Social Justice (SAI)

    in mailing of Tentative GA Agenda

    Congregations return poll to CSW
    which determines top five

    on all 5 Issues for post-GA Use

    Workshops by proposers on all 5 proposed
    Study/Action Issues before
    plenary at which vote is taken

    Year 2 - Study/Action Issues become UUA Statements of Conscience (SOC)

    immediately after GA
    GA Action/Reflection packets
    mailed to congregations

    by first Friday in October after GA
    comprehensive Action/Reflection
    packets to congregations sent

    Using Action/Reflection Packets,
    congregations choose and do project(s)
    and reflect on the social, political
    and UU implications of their learnings

    by March 1
    Based on learnings and experiences,
    congregations send feedback to CSW on
    focus or text for SOC
    and a suggested workshop

    At General Assembly

    CSW conducts workshop on SAI
    during which determination is made
    whether Issue is US or Continental

    CSW writes the proposed text
    of the SOC



    Year 3 - Adoption of Statements of Conscience (SOC)

    by first Friday in October after GA
    SOC text mailed to congregations

    by March 1
    Congregations and Districts submit
    proposed revisions to CSW

    CSW writes final proposed SOC language
    and mails to congregations with
    final GA Program
     

    At General Assembly

    CSWfacilitates
    a dedicated mini-assembly on SOC

    CSW incorporates changes
    from Minis, as appropriate
     

    Plenary



    UUA Faith In Action and D.C. Office report on what has been done by congregations and UUA on behalf of the SOC. CUC reports on social action chosen and undertaken by Canadians. UUA officers' reports should also reflect their incorporation of SOC throughout the year.
