We, the leaders of the congregation in ______ want to schedule a Social Justice Empowerment Workshop with the UUA's Office for Congregational Justice Making.

We have discussed this possibility with the members of the governing board of the congregation, the leaders of the congregation's social justice programs, and the minister or ministers. We agree to:

    1. Fill out the enclosed Congregational Social Justice Evaluation Form.
    2. Publicize the event.
    3. Recruit participants.
    4. Have at least one half of the members of the Board attend.
    5. The minister(s) is willing to attend and participate.
      • Do an evaluation after the training event is over.
      • Pay for the Program:

A workshop can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $2,500 depending on the number of days for the training and the travel distances for the program facilitators. The Office for Congregational Justice Making will pay for the travel, room and board, and honorarium for the workshop facilitators. The fee will also cover the cost for the Empowerment handbooks, which are $3.00 per person. Congregations are expected to pay a fee based on the size of the congregation:

      Fair Share congregations: Contributing congregations:
    Up to 150 members $500 $600
    Up to 550 members $750 $850
    Over 550 members $1,200 $1,300

This fee does not cover the costs for meals, snacks, newsprint, or childcare.
