The Uncommon Denomination" materials are divided into four main sections for easy use and progression through this dynamic new program. They are:

1. Hospitality & Belonging: This section offers resources on congregational hospitality, welcoming and belonging including best practices from other congregations and materials you can find online or purchase to help you and your congregation reach out and welcome newcomers in.
2. Tier 1:
   Where To Begin: Providing you with basic information on how your congregation can begin The Uncommon Denomination process and access and use the resources we're offering.
   Resources: focus on “in-reach” within the congregation – building stronger UU identity and awareness with the use of graphics and messages also used in the media resources. These in-reach resources can be part of developing a strong relationship among all parts of the congregation. And that in turn strengthens our out reach to those outside our doors, out in our neighborhoods and communities. The simple language and brief messages of these resources add to our vocabulary of faith – helping us hone our individual “elevator speeches” about what we believe and who we are. Tier 1 has many resources that do not cost a lot of money. In fact, they may be resources for things that your congregation is already doing.


3. Tier 2:
   Where To Begin: Providing you with basic information on how your congregation can begin The Uncommon Denomination process and access and use the resources we're offering.
   Tier 2 Resources: adds additional print ads and radio public service announcements. The covenant for Tiers 2 and 3 reflects the shift that the use of those resources can bring (increases in guests and new members).


4. Tier 3:
   Where To Begin: Providing you with basic information on how your congregation can begin The Uncommon Denomination process and access and use the resources we're offering.
   Tier 3 Resourcs: which provides more print and radio advertising as well as television advertising (for use where the market is affordable) and outdoor advertising (billboards). This Tier includes materials which will be used most frequently by our largest congregations and by clusters of congregations working together.
