Tier 1 Resources

The Uncommon Denomination Tier 1 visual resources are designed
to focus on “in-reach” within the congregation –
building stronger UU identity and awareness with the use of graphics
and messages also used in the media resources. These resources can
be part of developing a strong relationship among all parts of the
congregation. That, in turn, strengthens our out-reach to those
outside our doors – out in our neighborhoods and communities.
The simple language and brief messages of these resources add to
our vocabulary of faith – helping us hone our individual “elevator
speeches” about what we believe and who we are. In general,
the Tier 1 resources don't cost a lot of money. In fact, they may
be versions of, or models for, things that your congregation is
already doing.
Remember that you need to have read the guidelines for this program,
and had the leader of your congregation sign the Covenant for use
of "The Uncommon Denomination" materials before you proceed
with this program.
We're also providing you with background on working with Media,
and information about the field test of The Uncommon Denomination
program, which took place in the greater Kansas City area. Here
are reports for background and Further Resources:
Media
Resources:
Adobe
Acrobat PDF: The following media resource documents
are offered in Adobe Acrobat PDF ,
a free software and downloaded
here. PDF files are not meant for mass-reproduction but
rather for fast viewing, downloading, and local printing.
TIF format: These documents are also offered in TIF format. These files may be opened using most graphic editing software such as Photoshop or Paint Shop. The TIF files are high resolution for quality printing on your church copier or at your local copy shop and are fairly easy for the congregational user to work with. They also allow the addition of local congregation contact information.
Professional Printing: If you decide to use these
resources for production of materials in your own congregation,
your local printer will require a higher quality file which can
be edited to insert your congregation's own information in the file.
We have provided these files here in Encapsulated
PostScript (EPS) format. You may not be able to open/access
these files but your local printer will be able to, via a publishing
software called Adobe Illustrator. They will also be able to edit
certain text to INCLUDE your Congregation's name and address or
other relevant information.
All formats (pdf, tif and eps) are for your use as provided and within the agreement as described in Legal Information.
