Rev. William G. Sinkford
Welcome
to the President's Pages. In the course of my duties as president
of the Association, I am frequently honored with invitations to
speak before churches and other organizations. These occasions offer
unique opportunities to witness on behalf of our Unitarian Universalist
values. On this page you will find links to public addresses, sermons,
pastoral letters and recent news articles. These documents speak
to a wide range of religious and social topics whose diversity reflects
the dual mission of our faith community – to provide spiritual
support and to speak out in the name of justice. For Unitarian Universalists,
the pastoral and the prophetic voices ring out in harmony; it is
those moments of healing and reflection that sustain us in our quest
for justice, and it is the quest for justice which in turn allows
us to heal and to create meaning from our lived experience. Sharing
these documents is one way I hope to bring our unique religious
perspective into the public discourse.
In this spirit I invite you to explore the resources on this page.
You are welcome to circulate these documents within your congregations,
to use them for your religious education and public witness efforts,
or simply to share them with the people close to you. Throughout my
term I will add to this site, building a repository of materials that
represent my personal convictions as well as official UUA positions
on the important issues that touch us all.
We hope that you find these resources useful and we welcome your feedback.
Please send your questions or comments to Julie Shaw, Assistant to the President,
at (617) 948-4302 or jshaw@uua.org.
Yours in Faith,

Rev. William G. Sinkford
