New April 26, 2000: Vermont House of Representatives Joins State Senate in Approving Civil Union Bill; Governor to Sign Bill into Law Next Week Unitarian Universalists Speak Before Vermont State Legislature in Support of Same Sex Marriage March 29, 2000: Testimony of the Rev. Jane Dwinell, First Universalist Parish, Derby Line, VT, to the Senate Judiciary Committee at the Statehouse in Montpelier (Montpelier, VT March 3, 2000) Three Unitarian Universalists went before the Vermont State Legislature on March 1 in hope of influencing legislators to support legal marriage for same sex couples. Appearing were the Rev. James Norman, District Executive for the UUA's New Hampshire/Vermont District, the Rev. Nancy Crumbine, minister of the UU Congregation of the Upper Valley in Norwich, VT, and the Rev. Jane Dwinell, minister of the First Universalist Parish, Derby Line, VT. The three spoke in support of support the House Judiciary Bill on Civil Union, H847.
