Global AIDS in the Spotlight for UUs of Eugene, Oregon
Denis Reynolds, a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene , Oregon, has worked to raise AIDS awareness in his congregation. Reynolds' daughter Lindsey, a doctoral student in International Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, joined her father in speaking about the AIDS pandemic on November 26 at the Eugene congregation.
Their topic, "The Aids Pandemic; Witness and Our Call to Respond," acknowledged "our bounty here and the call to Unitarian Universalists, grounded within our Principles, to respond to that crisis."
Reynolds and his daughter have also sold Zulu beadwork to help fund Thembanathis (Zulu for "Hope with us"), a fundraising project they have initiated in the congregation.
