Peacework is a monthly journal published since 1972 by the New England Regional Office of the AFSC. Originally it covered resistance to military conscription and war tax resistance, but after the war in Southeast Asia it branched out to coverage of other issues, from nuclear power to the freedom movement, from disarmament to economic justice, from simple living to community organizing. Today it covers the full range of "Global Thought and Local Action for Nonviolent Social Change," with a special focus on the northeastern United States.

CCCO supports and promotes individual and collective resistance to war and preparations for war. For information on Selective Service registration, folks can order "Choosing Peace: A Handbook on War, Peace and Your Conscience" by writing to:

In the event that the draft is re-instated, MOOS recommends that youth who plan to conscientiously object from selective service get started now putting together a record of their commitment to nonviolence they can later present to a draft board. CCCO has a number of pamphlets and resources on how to do this. They also offer pre-enlistment counseling, military and draft counseling.
