The good work of Unitarian Universalist Military Ministries is very much appreciated... I encourage all congregations, districts, and clergy, in our religious tradition, to become familiar with our Military Ministries and to provide appropriate support...
There are many Unitarian Universalists who serve in the military and who belong to military families... Some of these people feel caught in a difficult situation... They need to know that our love and our concern continues and, yes, there may be moments when we'll have to make special efforts to make certain that our "welcoming congregations" remain open to all Unitarian Universalists...
In the Unitarian Universalist congregation that I know best, we keep both the United States and United Nations flags on display... Both banners are respected... Some church members have become involved with the Red Cross and other agencies that provide family assistance during difficult times...
