Discussion Board Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have
about WWWBoard.
What are the rules
& policies for using the discussion board?
A Hate-Free Zone
This bulletin board is provided as a service to users of the UUA
web site who wish to post thoughts, made in accordance with UU values
and principles, about the impending conflict of Iraq . You are invited
to post a message related to the conflict with Iraq. Please be aware
that we do not all think alike on this matter, and that civil discourse
and sharing of views, rather than branding those with whom you disagree
with denigrating terms, is the tone with which we wish to promote
this service.
The content on this board will be monitored and occasional posts
from the managers, where helpful, may appear. Complete information
on the growing Iraq conflict is
available on the web here. You may also wish to visit a UU congregation
during this time. Many will be offering special services, meditation
rooms, and discussion circles during the Iraq conflict. Click
here to find a UU congregation near you. If you are a military
member or a family member of someone in the military, you may wish
to visit UU Military
Ministries .
The posts contained on these pages do not necessarily reflect
the views, policies, or practices of the UUA. Please do not use
this board for advertising purposes. If you are a first-time visitor
or unfamiliar with Unitarian Universalism, you might wish to visit
the Newcomers'
Corner and ask questions there; your questions will be answered
in a quick and friendly manner. The UUA
also maintains e-mail mailing lists on a number of topics, including
social justice. For ongoing discussions, please consider joining
the appropriate mailing list rather than posting here.
Unauthorized use of the email addresses contained in these posts
is strictly prohibited.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message.
The maintainer of the script has the option of allowing or
disallowing any HTML in the Message part of your posting. If
they disallow it, the script will just throw out everything in
<>'s. If they allow it, your html markup will appear in
the posting. It can't hurt to try.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a
followup?
Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a
message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.
The owner of the WWWBoard can decide whether they wish to enable or
disable the quoting of previous messages.
Why didn't my post show up?
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the
page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it
should then appear.
Where can I get the scripts for this program?
The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are
free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other
scripts at: http://www.scriptarchive.com/.
Enjoy!
