Sadly we are once more at war; we hope for a good reason even as we
despair that none is good enough to cause the death and destruction
that all war entails, to take from us loved ones, friends, and family,
and to take the same from those called enemy.
Is this a just war? There are many reasons to prove it so; there are as many
to prove it not so.
How should we act? What should we do? At the very least, let us come
together in common grief even those of us who disagree on politics. To
responsibly and yea, religiously disagree with our government, the
military, the President, and the war, is not treason, nor is
agreement pure patriotism.
May we love one another especially during this time of conflict and
war; may we come together and comfort one another; let our rhetoric
take back seat to our compassion. Let us grieve the violence , the
killing, the destruction; the world herself holds its breath for what
may happen next to this shaking of the interdependent web of which we
are all a part. Let us hold tight to one another to make sure the web
does not tear itself and us apart.
Shalom-now more than ever.
