Let us grieve,
for war is once more begun;
Grieve for the soldiers,
daughter and son.

Grieve for the truth
in battles of words, die;
Grieve for the world
war always ripples wide.

Grieve for the enemies;
always more than one;
grieve war itself,
peace is never won.

Grieve for the allies
and all our friends;
For violence breeds violence
before it all ends.

Pray for the troops
both theirs and ours;
Pray for a just world
Where have gone all the flowers.
