Proud Tower Standing Tall

by Harlan Sandidge

This poem was written assuming that the towers would be rebuilt either actually or symbolically. If you are interested in a copy of the score please contact Harlan Sandidge via e-mail, AltoTenor@aol.com or via phone 734-930-0646.

Proud tower standing tall, symbol of my being,
To you embued high glory, strong, resilient,
Attacked by lunitics and idiots, to bring you down.

Like a tall man with his head in the clouds, synapses buzzing busily,
His mate stands at his side, and reaches out to the world.
Together they stand yet, invisable and ageless,
Amid the rocks and the steel, soon to be transformed.

Growing yet again, and gaining strenght and breath,
Working symbol now, guiding the world's resources,
People of many nations rejoicing, hearts beating glad.
The nation's life force is renewed.

Proud citizens save the day, and many do join in,
Rebuilding the body and the soul of a land triumphant,
Stuggling with a new maturity to save the day,
as the sun continues to cross the sky, each day again and always.
