Asking Makes a Difference, Jerald L. King (2000, Jerald L. King; UUA Bookstore, $39.95). Outlines structure, process, calendar and materials for a year-round approach to stewardship. Covers face-to-face, "Commitment Sunday" and "Potluck" campaigns and includes a computer disk to personalize your materials.

Budgets with a Mission, Jerald L. King (1996, Jerald L. King; UUA Bookstore, $14.95). Explores how to increase membership involvement and financial giving in order to provide stable, ongoing support.

Consecration Sunday Stewardship Program, Herb Miller (1995, Abingdon Press, $8).
Focused on raising the level of stewardship rather than raising the church budget, this "no gimmick" approach teaches stewardship from a spiritual rather than a fundraising perspective. Has been used with success in several of our larger congregations as "Celebration Sunday," "Stewardship Sunday," etc.

Creating Congregations of Generous People, Michael Durall (1999, Alban Institute, UUA Bookstore, $13.95). Challenges congregations to accept their responsibility to own the stewardship process and empower people to lead more generous lives. Fundraising with a Vision: A Canvass Guide for Congregations, Ed Landreth (1997, UUA; UUA Bookstore, $25). Godfrey (Fireside Books). Simple, straightforward advice for parents to transmit their own values as they help children learn about financial realities and the sometimes unexpected changes that life brings.

Seeks to empower stewardship teams with the latest methods of turning a dream into a vision that empowers canvassers to ask for the money. Updates the original "Funding the Dream" video, based on more recent canvass experiences.

"Funding the Dream," The Rev. Terry Sweetser (UUA; UUA Bookstore, $25). Educates congregations to think and talk differently about giving and motivates them to turn canvass visions into a "dream campaign." Includes a discussion guide.

"Sharing Our Commitment: From One Generation to the Next," The Rev. Terry Sweetser (UUA; UUA Bookstore, $25). Explores the varying levels of commitment and generosity among members of a congregation; the reasons for and significance of these variances; and strategies for moving members to a high level of involvement, commitment and generosity.

Depicts canvasser training, kick-off events, pulpit testimonials and a real canvass visit. Filmed at congregations in Needham and Cambridge MA; Portland ME; and Columbus OH.
