Significant financial support for the Unitarian Universalist
movement comes directly from our member congregations. Congregational
contributions to the Unitarian Universalist Association Annual Program
Fund (APF)
provide almost half of the Association's unrestricted income.
These contributions fund Association programs, services
and resources that directly benefit and strengthen the congregations
themselves and Unitarian Universalism as a whole. By joining together,
we can create religious education curricula and social justice programs.
We can also provide support for ministry, growth, extension and
outreach. Each independent congregation has the opportunity as a
group to help fund the work of the Association and to be part of
an interdependent religious community.
Fair Share (Minimum requested contribution)
2005/06 based on $51 per member
2006/07 based on $53 per member
2007/08 based on $54 per member
Member congregations are asked to make a financial contribution each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). It is calculated
on the basis of the number of members your congregation certified
for General Assembly the previous February. Congregations with 550
or more members have the option of calculating
their contribution based
on the
number of members or at 4.2% of total budgeted expenses.
The UUA Board of Trustees determines each year's Fair
Share assessment for our member congregations and the overall APF
Goal.
District Grants
The Association redistributes a portion of the Annual
Program Fund contributions to all
20 Districts. The annual Grant to each District is calculated
in the fall of each year and paid quarterly.
The success of your Annual Program Fund campaign determines
the amount of the District’s grant. The more congregations give
to the APF, the more is returned to your District in the form of
Basic, Incentive and Fair Share Congregation grants.
Grants totaling
$591,538 were returned to Districts
in support of 2004/05 programs and services. Click
