Saturday's UUA General Assembly programming began with a second plenary session in the morning. Featured was a presentation on "Fulfilling the Promise" centered on analysis of the 10,000+ responses to a survey on UU trends and theological preference. Also included was an address by Frances Hesselbein, President of the Peter Drucker Foundation for NonProfit Management, and discussion of study resolutions for examination over the next three years of General Assemblies. Larry Ladd, the UUA's Financial Advisor, presented his annual financial report. |
An afternoon presentation on "Leading Change" used Peter Drucker's "Five Most Important Questions Your NonProfit Organization Will Ever Ask" in a congregational setting. The program was led by nonprofit management consultant Chris Cappy, and was designed to encourage 2000+ participants to examine the elements which go into change-making in congregations.
The evening focus programming by sociologist Robert Bellah, put the "Fulfilling the Promise" survey responses into the larger context of contemporary religious thinking.
