UUA Election Results Announced

(Fort Worth, June 26, 2005) The Rev. Wayne Arnason, UUA Secretary, authenticated election results for the Association’s elections for President, Moderator, Financial Advisor, and positions on the Commission on Social Witness, Planning Committee, Board of Review, and Board of Trustees.
The positions of President and Moderator were uncontested. Even so, Moderator candidate Gini Courter received the largest number of votes of any candidate (1,286). President candidate The Rev. William Sinkford was not far behind, with 1,264.
There were two contested elections, that for the four-year terms for Commission on Social Witness, and for the four-year term for the General Assembly Planning Committee. Candidates David May (905 votes) and Jan Carlsson-Bull (898) were elected to the Commission on Social Witness, while Catherine Blue (671) came in third.
Candidates Barbara Atlas (920 votes), Fred Cole (860), Lynda Bluestein (791), and Donald Wilson (748) were elected to the Planning Committee, while candidates Karen Araujo (737) and Carol Agate (725) were not elected.
The vote totals for the other uncontested elections were as follows. Board of Review: Janice Marie Johnson (1,219) and Betsy Darr (1,213); Commission on Appraisal: Rev. Barbara Child (1,226), Arthur Morrison (1,209), Michael Ohlrogge (1,219); Commission on Social Witness, two year term: Laura Shemick (1,228); Financial Advisor: Dan Brody (1,264); General Assembly Planning Committee: Elisabeth McGregor (1,230); Nominating Committee: Rev. Robert Schaibly (1,224), Kok Heong McNaughton (1,222), Megan Selby (1,216); Board of Trustees, At-Large: Tamara Payne-Alex (1,231), Charlie King (1,219); and Board of Trustees, Youth Trustee: Julian Sharp (1,220).
