GA 2005 Fort Worth, Texas
The Rev. Naomi King

2005 Stewardship Sermon Award
"Stand By This Faith" ©2004
by The Rev. Naomi King Sermon
delivered on February 22, 2004
to Horizon Unitarian Universalist Church Carrollton, TX
while serving as their Ministerial Intern

Naomi King is the newly called minister to Utica Unitarian Universalist Church of New York. She originally delivered this sermon while she was the ministerial intern at Horizon Unitarian Universalist Church in Carrollton, Texas. Prior to pursuing the ministry, Naomi was a restauranteur and businesswoman, where much of her time was spent in community endeavors connecting hearts and bank accounts. Today, she serves on the Board of Project Harvest Hope. Naomi recently graduated Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago and was ordained at her home congregation of First Universalist Church in Yarmouth, Maine. The first thing her home church ever asked her to do — before she was a member — was participate in the every-member canvass; she’s been hooked on the practical theology of generosity and abundance ever since.
