Program Coverage for Thursday, June 24th

The UUA General Assembly opened with a beautifully designed opening celebration focusing on the UUA's justice work around same sex marriage. The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles provided music for the event, which also featured the traditional and colorful banner parade, welcoming of new congregations into the UUA, and remarks by the Rev. William Sinkford, UUA President. Acting Moderator Gini Courter was introduced to the gathered body, and the Revs. John Marsh and Margot Campbell Gross, co-ministers of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Francisco, spoke about their role in supporting and performing same sex marriages, legal in San Francisco earlier this year.
