Submitting Your GA Reports or Presentations for Web Publication
There are several easy ways to deliver your information to us:
attach a word document to an email, or alternatively, paste the
text of your article/presentation/speech into an email. If you don't
have Microsoft Word (we use Word 2000 and Word 98), you can save
files as .rtf (rich text format) and send them that way; layout
will be preserved. Graphics can be sent as email attachments. We
also accept excel (typically, spreadsheets) files, and powerpoint
shows, although all documents MUST be clearly labeled and must be
able to support your programmatic presentation 'as is' (this means,
provide the context for a powerpoint show, not just the unlabeled
slides!)
You would typically retain copyright to your work, and should let
us know if there are other rights issues. We hope we can post all
reasonable submissions of sanctioned GA presentations, though we
do set priorities. We appreciate your submission and welcome your
comments.
Email
Submit material to the UUA Office of Electronic Communication at
GAweb@uua.org. You can almost
always use simple procedures called mark (or select), copy, and
paste to include plain text (ASCII) in an email. In your email,
be sure to include your name and email address, and the event title
and Program event number. If your material has formatting that is
important to your content, please also leave a copy of the original
in the submissions box in the Volunteer Office on site at GA and
note on it that you have also emailed a copy to us.
Images
Graphics can be sent in almost any format, though GIF or JPG images
are preferred. The simplest, fastest delivery option is usually
attaching your graphic(s) to an email. Include a brief note (including
your name and email address, and the event title and Program event
number) in the regular text section of the email and send it. IBM-formatted
3.5" diskettes can also be submitted; leave them in the submissions
box in the Volunteer Office on site.
Copyrights
As author, you retain copyright even though you grant us permission
to publish on the UUA website. You may choose to cede copyright
to the UUA if that's your preference, but it's not expected. It
is your responsibility, of course, not to submit materials encumbered
by copyrights of other parties. If you include copyrighted material
of others for which you have permission to present, but not to web
publish, please be certain we understand which materials should
not be used on the web.
The Office of Electronic Communication, the Electronic Communication
Committee, and a multitude of volunteers work together to bring
General Assembly to the world. Thank you for your help! GA is a
huge event, and we appreciate all submissions.
