3043 Contemporary Worship for Young Adults

Michael Tino, Director of Young Adult and Campus Ministry

Over one hundred people crowded into and around the door of a room that seated only fifty-six. Sitting on the floor and in the wide aisles, and standing in the doorway and just outside, the lively group, over half of whom were young adults, listened to a presentation and shared their own experiences of how to attract young adults to congregations.

Only five percent of UU congregations reported a young adult population of sixty percent or more. Exploration of what different things those congregations are doing provided interesting insights about more lively and attractive worship for young adults and also for all congregations regardless of age composition.

The powerpoint slide presentation can be found here PDF File, Adobe Acrobat Required and more information is available on the web at www.uuyan.org Remote Link. A major revision of the website will be unveiled about two weeks after the end of the 2003 General Assembly.
