General Assembly 2002
3020 Out of the Woods, Into the Heart
Council of UU Camps and Conferences

Leader: Carole Eagleheart

There are 28 UU Camps and Conferences across the continent from Arizona to Ontario and from Washington state to Florida (for a full list, see: http://www.uua.org/administration/organizations.html#camps.) Some, like the Mountain (http://www.mountaincenters.org/) are open all year, others bloom only for a week. How many have you visited? Carole Eagleheart has been to about half and hopes to visit more.

In a celebration of camp spirit, UU troubadour Carole Eagleheart led an audience of enthusiastic singers in a wide variety of her songs, all with UU themes such as respect for the interdependent web. Her own network (http://www.homestead.com/eagleheart1/) takes her all over Canada and the US to churches, schools, and camps where she leads concerts, workshops, or Sunday services. Eagleheart introduced some new material about the 4000-year-old Minoan celebration of the Goddess, and blended this with some older songs such as one she wrote for GA decades ago. After an hour of Eagleheart's songs, we parted with soaring spirits and a ready smile.
