Imagine what it would be like to create a Christian Unitarian Universalist congregation in your community. Imagine what it might be like to be part of a congregation like this. This workshop explored this developing community with in the Unitarian Universalist movement.
Rev. Nurya Love Parish is the minister at the Epiphany Community Church in Fenton, MI http://www.epiphanyuu.org/, which was organized seven years ago as a Unitarian Universalist Christian Church. The church recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. During the workshop, she and the Rev. Scott Wells discussed how to help others develop their own visions of what might be possible in a UU Christian Church and also answered questions about the process.
Rev. Scott Wells is the minister of the Universalist National Memorial Church http://www.unmc.org/, in the DuPont Circle area of Washington, DC. He has only served only Christian churches before coming to Universalist National Memorial Church last year.
Rev. Parish asked the small group to introduce themselves, acknowledging that some people may be uneasy about the idea of a Christian UU church, while others may be present at the workshop because they are enthusiastic about the idea.
