UUA Ministry Days 2000
Conversation About White Anti-Racism

Tuesday, June 20 12:00-6:00 pm

One of the diverse offerings of Ministers' Days at GA 2000 was this opportunity for ministers to meet and share stories and experiences around racism and anti-racism.

The overflow crowd of ministers participated in a number of activities to assess what is currently being done in ministries, and to facilitate communication and information sharing among ministers.

In the first part of the session after lunch some speakers presented concerns and stories about experiences of racism and anti-racism. In the middle of the afternoon, the session broke into groups of four or five, so that each person would have a chance to speak of his or her experience. The group came back together as a plenary for general discussion and followup on the most compelling of the experiences.

Three action items from the meeting were taken up by subcommittees for presentation at the UUMA business meeting on Thursday, June 22nd.
