Myths and Realities of Organizing and Serving Latinos in the UU Faith

Congregations in areas with sizable numbers of Latinos feel at loss in their desire to embrace diversity and to bring our liberal faith to those Latinos thirsting for a religion like ours. By learning from the mistakes and successes of the Spanish Speaking Ministries in the First Unitarian Church of San Jose, this workshop empowers participants to take the first steps toward more effectively recognizing and including Latinos in their congregations. Lindi Ramsden and Lilia Cuervo are the Senior Minister and Extension Minister of the First Unitarian Church of San Jose.
