Special Conference for Staff Members of Large Congregations

Building Effective Staff Teams

"Building Effective Staff Teams" will be the theme of a special conference for the staff of larger congregations, which will be held at Fairfax, Virginia, from November 6 to 8, 2006. The theme presenter will be Susan Beaumont, a senior consultant with The Alban Institute  and a leading authority on congregational staffing. This event is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association and will be hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax.

The conference begins with dinner on Monday, November 6, and concludes with lunch on Wednesday, November 8. Stefan Jonasson, the UUA Director for Large Congregations, will offer a presentation on "Key Challenges Facing the Staff of Large Congregations" on Monday evening, after which there will be an opportunity for position-based affinity groups to meet. Susan Beaumont will present all day on Tuesday, November 7, followed by dinner and evening affinity group meetings.
