Stanfield and D'Orlando Art Scholarship
There are two scholarships for art students. Eligibility requirements
for both scholarships are the same and applicants for the Stanfield
and D'Orlando scholarships are considered together. Both graduate
and undergraduate Unitarian Universalist students preparing for
a career in fine arts may apply. According to the terms of the
trusts, eligible subjects of study are painting, drawing, photography
and sculpture. (art history, art therapy, film and performing arts
majors are not eligible).
The Pauly D'Orlando Memorial Art Scholarship was established at
the First Unitarian Church of New Orleans in 1979 in memory of
Ms. D'Orlando, an accomplished artist whose medium was enamel on
copper. She was the wife of Albert D'Orlando, who was minister
of that church for many years.
The Marion Barr Stanfield Scholarship was established by Mrs.
Stanfield through her will in a bequest to the UUA.
The number of scholarships awarded and the amount of the grants
may vary from one year to the next. The application deadline is
February 15.
