Independent Affiliate Organizations

The UUA Board of Trustees grants independent affiliate status to independently constituted and operated organizations whose purposes and intentions are found to be in sympathy with the principles of the Association and who support the Association by paying an annual contribution. The Office of the Executive Vice President maintains a list of current independent affiliates and coordinates the annual review of each organization's status as an independent affiliate.

CU2C2 is the blanket organization to which most UU camps, conference centers, and conferences belong. Our membership is approximately 25 camps and conferences, and a few individual members. All existing camps and conferences in the continental US and Canada are considered eligible for membership. The primary activities of CU2C2 are: holding an annual conference to provide an opportunity for participants to improve their skills as camp administrators, board members, volunteers, etc; promoting individual camps and conferences and the camping movement in general; providing a vehicle for sharing knowledge, resources, experiences, and information amongst camps and conferences in order to strengthen and learn from each other.

AMUUSE Singles Camp
The Adult Midwest UU Singles Enrichment Camp (AMUUSE) is dedicated to creating an environment of personal growth and recreation for single adults over 18 years of age. Join us this summer at the famous dunes on Lake Michigan's east shore near Saugatuck, Michigan and also at the wooded lakeside summer retreat at Conference Point in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Our three camps and four seasonal gatherings feature workshops and activities designed with attention to the balance of body, mind and spirit.

Camp de Benneville Pines
Nestled high in the San Bernardino Mountains near the resort town of Big Bear, CA., Camp de Benneville Pines sits in a national wilderness of oaks, cedars and pines. Camp LaForet
Camp LaForet is a summer camp for all ages held at Carbondale, CO. Each day brings activities for all: workshops and support groups for adults, children's program led by experts, and a special haven for teens and young adults. Workshops can include music, massage, yoga, poetry, drama, mindfulness, nutrition, dance, meditation, and more. Evenings bring activities by and for everyone: Dances of Universal Peace, hiking, massage night, trips to surrounding areas, talent night, and the famous Friday Night party.

Camp Unistar
Camp UniStar , located on Star Island in Cass Lake, a part of the Chippewa National Forest in northern Minnesota, offers ten family weeks, a work week, two youth weeks, Boundary Waters canoe trips, and September group retreats. The lake encourages water activities; the forest trails attract hikers; sunrises and sunsets invite meditation. Each year UniStar campers return for peace, quiet, and serenity to an island retreat with no roads or commercial enterprise.

Cedar Hill Retreat Center
A year-round, intimate retreat center on Duxbury Bay with 500 feet of private beach, 12½ acres of fields, wildflowers, and towering cedars. Eliot Institute
Eliot Institute, in the Pacific Northwest, offers four camps each year, three one-week long conferences in summer and a five-day conference to celebrate each New Year. All camps have a full morning program for children and youth from infants to teens. Winter and summer gatherings are held at Seabeck Conference Center on Hood Canal near Seattle, WA.  An early summer conference convenes at the Naramata Conference Centre in the beautiful Lake Okanagan in eastern British Columbia - celebrate Canada Day and US Independence Day with Eliot!

Ferry Beach
Ferry Beach, located on Saco Bay in southern Maine, is committed to supporting individuals in their journeys toward self-understanding and spiritual awareness, and the extension of Unitarian Universalism. Summer programs include Family and Adult Conferences, Professional & Church Development Conferences, and Youth Camps. Murray Grove Retreat and Conference Center

Rowe Camp & Conference Center
Nestled in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, Rowe Camp and Conference Center is the only year round UU center in the Northeast. Rowe Conference Center offers programs on a unique blend of religious, psychological, political, fun, vacation and health-related topics. Rowe Camp, founded in 1924, offers summer camp programs for children from age 8-18. Saug-for-All -
Saug-for-All is a weeklong fun-filled summer adventure at Saugatuck MI, providing an environment to encourage personal growth and spiritual enrichment and opportunities to form new and lasting friendships. SAWUURA
Sierra Ancha Wilderness UU Religious Association (SAWUURA), located in the Sierra Ancha Mountains of Arizona, is open all year. Central to its being is a reverence for and dedication to the preservation of Nature and the Earth. This primitive setting, without electricity and other conveniences, appeals to very small groups and individuals who treasure the Earth. We offer three programs each year, plus work weekends, "Hosted Free Camp." We have simple cabins; a well; and a clear view of sky, stars, and trees.

Senexet House
In 1932, a group of Unitarian laypersons established a retreat at Senexet House, a New England countryside estate in Woodstock, Conn. Its purpose is to encourage and enlarge the spiritual and religious life of the individuals and groups who come to it. The house, built in 1886, ideally located between Boston and New York, is available for religious retreats, family gatherings, counseling groups, young people's organizations, etc., for groups of 15 to 35. It is also available as a meeting space and for overnight retreats.

Southeast Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute (SUUSI) is a gathering of over a thousand UUs, who come together in July each year, in Blacksburg, Virginia to explore our interconnectedness, learn new ways of seeing our world and each other, and delight in the joys of seeing old friends and making new ones. SWIM
The Southeast Unitarian Universalist Winter Institute, Inc., in Miami (SWIM) is an annual UU Retreat and Family Camp for UUs and like-minded people of all ages which happens every year from Dec 26th through Jan 1st. SWIM offers outdoor adventures (including tours, hikes, rides, canoeing, kayaking, hot tubbing, sailing), workshops (including crafts, spirituality, personal growth), evening worship, special programming for youth, teens, and young adults, fantastic food, and a close-knit community of friends.

The Southwestern Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute (SWUUSI), a week-long annual extended family gathering held on the shores of beautiful Lake Murray in Ardmore, Oklahoma, provides opportunities for people of all ages and interests to develop or enrich their Unitarian Universalist identity. Unirondack

UUMAC

What began in 1997 as religious professionals and UUA staff affirming their presence as People of Color within Unitarian Universalism is today a national organization. DRUUMM's mission provides support and advocacy for People of Color and leadership creating anti-racist Unitarian Universalist identity and practice. The DRUUMM family includes children, youth, and adults of all ages, and religious professionals who participate in activities sponsored by DRUUMM and its identity-based affiliates -Youth and Young Adults (YaYA), Asian/Pacific Islanders (A/PIC), La Familia Global, and African Descent. DRUUMM meets twice annually, at General Assembly and at the Fall Conference. The Leadership Development Conference is offered annually; Youth and young adults alternate years. DRUUMM sponsors General Assembly (and elsewhere) workshops, speakers, and events of specific interest to People of Color.
