As chief executive officer, the
Rev. William G. Sinkford, UUA President, is responsible for
the programs and administrative policies of the Association and
is the Association's chief spokesperson. Visit

letters, and recent media coverage on the UUA President. For
further information, including arrangement of appointments, and
visits to congregations, contact Julie Shaw, Assistant to the President.
The Office of the Executive Vice President maintains liaison with
the Board of Trustees and with Associate Members and Independent
Affiliate Organizations. For formal recognition of Congregational
501c3 status contact this office. A Registry of Conscientious Objectors
is maintained by the Association for the recording of voluntary
written statements of conscientious objection to war by members
of Unitarian Universalist congregations. Those interested in further
information should contact Nancy Lawrence,
in the Office of the Executive Vice President.
The Executive Vice President, Kay Montgomery,
is responsible, under the supervision of the President, for the day-to-day
management of the Association. She supervises all UUA vice presidents
and program department directors, coordinates the work of the UUA legal
counsel, and has responsibility for personnel matters in conjunction with
the Human Resources Administrator. The Executive Vice President maintains
close consultation with the President in the formulation of policy, implements
the Presidents instructions, and acts in the absence of the President
on the Associations behalf.

The UUA is governed by a Board of Trustees
consisting of District Trustees (selected by the various Districts), and at-large
Trustees, (elected by delegates to the General Assembly). The General Assembly
is the annual business meeting of the denomination, held in various parts of
the continent. An elected moderator, Gini
Courter, presides at the General Assembly and at meetings of the Board of
Trustees, and represents the Association on special occasions.
