We are a diverse association, and there is no single software package that will suit all our congregations. The UUA does not recommend church management software packages, but we know of several that are in use by our congregations.

Art Lieberman (a New Jersey UU) and Art Ungar (a California UU and the creator of Impress) have developed a full-featured Windows system for managing membership information and tracking pledges, called MemInfo. A fully-operational demo system is available for $10 (email to sales@lieberware.com) or by downloading from the web at www.lieberware.com/meminfo. The website has recommendations from UU congregations.

A complete "Church Bookkeeping System" is available from Richmond Software for $279. It features record-keeping of offerings and attendance information by family.

One package being used by several UU congregations is Church Windows, a modular "fully integrated church information management software program". A demo version is available for download.

Another highly recommended church software package is Servant Keeper Church Management Software. It has membership and attendance tracking capabilities, contribution and pledge entry, report and directory generation. It costs $199 for churches under 250 members, $399 for unlimited numbers of members. It does have a fully functional demo available for onlhy $10.

There are many packages listed by Yahoo Church Software.

Often churches find it necessary to use one product to track membership, religious education, and pledging information, but then choose to manage their accounting data with a separate product. Some possibilities for accounting products are Microsoft Money, Intuit Quicken and QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel (a spreadsheet product).
